Better Late than Never — The 2014 e-book is here!

There were some delays in releasing the 2014 e-book, but we’re proud to say that it has arrived! Hop over to our E-book page to download the two most recent issues of Prairie Margins!

The process of converting a book into an e-book can be long and tedious, but when everything comes together, it makes for an awesome addition to any e-reader device. Normally our distribution of Prairie Margins would be limited to print copies–and we have limited budget. E-books allow us to spread the work of our wonderful authors far and wide.

With a literary journal like Prairie Margins, each book is different. When we get formatted poetry and unusual works, it can make conversion to e-book a bit difficult. But between our tech editor and his best friend Google, it usually ends up alright.

We’re proud to bring our 2014 issue of Prairie Margins to your e-reader devices! If you have any suggestions for improvement, please feel free to leave us a comment. We’re always looking for ways to bring a better magazine into the world.

Kick Off Spring Harvest with Readings Tonight!

It’s a dreary Thursday here at BGSU, but don’t let it keep you inside! Come to Prout Chapel tonight at 7:30 to hear readings from the published poet Abigail Cloud, and stay after her reading for Prairie Margin’s Unheard Ink, an open mic event where prose writers and poets can read their work out loud! Do you have some work you would like to share? Come on down and read in front of your fellow creative peers at Prout tonight.

Want a quick look at the schedule? Here it is:

Thursday — Prout Chapel

7:30 — Bowling Green State University faculty Abigail Cloud opens Spring Harvest with her Prout Chapel reading at 7:30 p.m.

9:00-11:00 — Unheard Ink is an event hosted by Prairie Margins where anyone and everyone can read their prose and poetry in front of a crowd of fellow writers. There is no RSVP required, just show up and sign up on the spot. Bring your work in physical form or on an electronic device and hang out with some awesome people!

Friday — Spring Harvest

3:00 – 6:00 — Come over to Prout Chapel to hear some panels by some of the best people in the business. An editor from a horror magazine will be giving a panel to kick off the event! Stay and hear some talks on creative non-fiction, creative prompts, and even compete in a flash fiction contest! We’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone there!
